What initially began as a two-week brief from University of Hertfordshire to create a radio became a big project that involved all stages of design process: research, development and production. Audiomatryoshkas are a set of portable multimedia speakers with subwoofer inspired by a popular Russian nesting doll. The shape is subtly updated and made more playful to appeal to younger audiences. The result is a strikingly modern yet instantly familiar device that follows the popular 'vinyl toy' aesthetic.
Working prototypes of Audiomatryoshkas were featured on That's Design! exhibition during Salone Internazionale del Mobile 2008 in Milan and D&AD Young Blood 2009 in London.
